Il progetto nasce della collaborazione tra Verdeacqua e Theatre in Italy che ha la caratteristica di avvalersi di un attore circense, Cathal Carroll di origine irlandese con 20 anni di esperienza nel campo teatrale. L’obiettivo è quello di portare direttamente a scuola lo spettacolo “Plastic planet” per sensibilizzare i più giovani e trasmettere loro il grande valore che ha l’ambiente, ma anche quanto sia importante proteggerlo e rispettarlo; tutto presentato interamente in inglese!
Lo spettacolo si propone di affrontare uno dei più grandi problemi del nostro tempo: l'inquinamento da materie plastiche con anche riferimenti all’emergenza climatica.
Plastic planet mette in scena un problema enorme e complesso. Attraverso l'umorismo e il teatro fisico, porta gli studenti a riflettere su fatti reali, talvolta purtroppo drammatici, ma mantenendo uno stile dinamico e divertente.
Gli studenti svolgono un ruolo attivo come volontari nella performance, aiutando l’attore a coinvolgere il pubblico attraverso esperimenti e dimostrazioni pratiche.
Dopo lo spettacolo i ragazzi partecipano a quattro corner scientifici della durata di 15 minuti l’uno.

The project was born as a collaboration between Verdeacqua and Theatre in Italy, a small theatre company founded by Irish-born actor and circus performer Cathal Carroll who has over 20 years' experience as a performer. We aim to bring the show “Plastic Planet” directly to schools to make young people aware of the great value the environment has and why it is so important to protect and respect it, and … it’s performed entirely in English!
The show aims to tackle one of the biggest issues of our time: plastic pollution and also climatic emergency.
The show discusses this huge and complex issue in a down-to-earth style using humor and physical theatre to inform students of the real facts while keeping the show entertaining and dynamic.
The students always play an active part in the performance, helping to put the issue in context for the audience with experiments and practical demonstrations.
After the performance, the student will spend 15 minutes in each of the 4 scientific stands prepared for the lab where they will learn to identify and sort plastic items of daily use.
